Port of Barcelona

Port of Barcelona is located near the coast line, in the west part of the city. This is the ninth largest container port in Europe. It has also a great importance as a commercial port. In 2006 the trade volume was about over 2 millions TEU's. Through its well-established regular shipping lines it provides good connections with over 800 ports over the whole world.

The area of Port is divided into three main sectors: commercial port, Barcelona Free Port - the logistics port and Port Vell.
The main terminals are designed for containers, cruise ships, short sea shipping, ferries, cars, and more.

Port of Barcelona is managed by the Port Authority of Barcelona. Currently part of the port is being rebuilt and enlarged.
