National Museum of Art of Catalonia in Barcelona is located on a Montjuïc hill at the end of Avinguda de la Reina Maria Crisitina. It's a museum of visual art. It combines art collections from the previous museums: Museu d'Art de Catalunya (Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque) and Museu d'Art Modern with its 19th and 20th century collection.
The museum is divided into few sections:
Romanesque - which contains the Catalan art from the 11th to 13th centuries, Gothic - with Catalan art from 13th-15th centuries, Renaissance and Baroque - the 16th to 18th centuries art from Spain, Italy and Fleming, The Cambó Bequest - contains a group of pictures that reflect the history of European painting from the 14th to 19th centuries Thyssen-Bonermizsa - examples of European art, exhibition contains the paintings and sculptures from the Gothic to the Rococo Modern - the Catalan art from the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th, Drawings and prints - a wide selection of drawings, prints and posters of the Catalan artists which shows the art tendencies since 17th century, Photography - over the 6000 photographs from the 19th and 20th centuries, Coinage - large collection of coins, medals and valuable paper from Catalonia.
