Cathedral of Santa Eulalia

Plaça de la Seu
Barri Gótic district
Barcelona

The Cathedral of Santa Eulalia, known also as La Seu, is the Gothic cathedral dedicated to Barcelona's patron saint Eulalia - a young girl tortured to death by the Romans for her religion.

It was constructed between 13th and 15th centuries, only the neo-gothic facade is from 19th century. On the interior courtyard are always 13 geese - each goose represents one year of Eulalia's life. In the crypt there is also her sarcophagus.
