Barcelona Maritime Museum was created in 1929 and since then it gathered a large group of collections which present the Catalan seafaring culture and their long-standing tradition connected with the sea. Its resources make up the permanent exhibition of museum and are divided into few sections.

The sections contain:

model ships,
nautical instruments,
ex-votos,
maritime paintings,
figureheads,
cartography,
the replica of the royal galley of Juan de Austria,
schooner Santa Eulalia - a historical vessel from 1918
