About Barcelona
Barcelona is a second largest city in Spain. It is also the capital of Catalonia - one of several autonomous communities distinguished in this country. It is situated in the north-eastern part of the Iberian Peninsula, on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, south to the Pyrenees mountains and the border with France.
Barcelona is an important economic centre. Here is located one of the major ports in Europe - the Mediterranean Port and the second largest airport in Spain - Barcelona International Airport. It has also rich cultural heritage and many monuments in the city has been designated as an UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Barcelona is one of the most fascinating places in the Europe. Nowhere else you will find such a diversity: lot of parks, pedestrian promenades, beaches, an Old Town, numerous museums and monumental buildings, and many many more. And because of that it is still a major tourist destination.
